Crafting Cheshire
Each dining table is individually handcrafted by one person on our team who carefully selects each oak piece to use in his or her work. They then turn the pedestal design on a lathe and cut each step using hand tools before joining all of the pieces together to create a robust, unique piece of furniture.
Why oak?
Oak, one of our favourite woods to work with, is prized for its strength and durability and is a truly timeless material for making furniture. We source our oak from sustainably managed forests in France and Finland, each piece is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council - a non-governmental, non-profit organization created as a response to rapid deforestation). By sourcing our oak from these sustainability-focused organizations, we’re doing our part in becoming an environmentally conscious business.
What seating complements Cheshire?
Cheshire comfortably seats up to 4 people. The curved backrest seen in our Windsor Dining Chair perfectly complements Cheshire’s round shape. We also recommend pairing Cheshire with our Atom Dining Chair if you’re looking for a more contemporary, Scandinavian look.
If you’re restricted for space, you can also style Cheshire with our Abington or Charlbury dining stool. If you do this, you will be able to accommodate up to 5 people comfortably thanks to the small footprint offered by the dining stools.
